Some new material is part of the plan for the Cranberries, but the reunited Irish band will work its way slowly to that point according to singer Dolores O'Riordan.

"It would be nice to come up with a new record. I don't see why not," O'Riordan tells Billboard.com. "They ideas are always there, so hopefully something will come out of it."

O'Riordan -- who instigated the Cranberries hiatus in 2003 and released her second solo album, "No Baggage," in August -- says that Cranberries guitarist Noel Hogan "has been sending me lots of music, and I've been continually writing." But she's cautious about guessing what will come of it. "It's one of those things where we have to see what happens when we get back together and start playing," O'Riordan explains. "There's no point in bringing out a crappy record. You want it to be really good, so hopefully the creative juices are flowing and the energies are right. We're all pumped and excited and we've got that hunger that we had when we first started out."

The Cranberries hit the road for the first time in seven years on Nov. 12 in Baltimore. The group's original lineup of O'Riordan, Hogan, his brother Mike and Fergal Lawler is intact -- "At the height of the Cranberries we made a pact that we'd never play as the Cranberries unless it was the four of us," O'Riordan says -- and will play 19 shows in North America through Dec. 7. O'Riordan says the group is looking at more touring in 2010, including stops in Europe, Russia, South America and other territories.

"A world tour would be really great," she says. "We're gonna give it a good crack. I say tour 'til we drop! We've been sitting on our butts for seven years, so it's exciting we're all into it and we miss it."

As for repertoire, O'Riordan says the Cranberries will play some of her material but fans can expect hits such as "Linger," "Zombie" and "Dreams," as well as some deeper cuts from the group's five-album catalog. "I toured in 2007, and I played the (Cranberries) stuff with those musicians, but the energy was different," she notes. "It didn't sound and feel the same.

"Anyone can play a song, but sometimes the energy people have when they wrote the song has a certain feeling you can only get from them. So I'm looking forward to feeling that energy again, the sound of the Cranberries."

В новом интервью для одной из газет Лимерика Ноэл сказал, что они репетируют песни, написанные для неизданного 6 альбома (возможно, имеются в виду Astral Projection и пр.), а также совершенно новые песни. Кроме того Клюквы планируют выпустить новый альбом летом 2010 года.


Cranberries guitarist Noel Hogan hints at gig in Thomond Park next summer

CRANBERRIES' guitarist Noel Hogan has spoken about the band's reunion and has given a strong indication that the band might be set for a Thomond Park gig next summer, saying "to play somewhere like Thomond Park would be amazing for us".

Speaking on Live 95FM's Limerick Today show to publicise a new charity album that the he has contributed a song to, Hogan claimed that there were "no plans" at the moment for a gig in the newly developed stadium, but said he hoped it might happen.

"Yes, of course it would be unbelievable (to play in Limerick) and to play somewhere like Thomond Park would be amazing for us," said Hogan.

"The last time we played in Limerick was 1993, so it is a long break. We haven't been approached by anybody, but that is the way it goes with these things, they tip along and then in the blink of an eye it gets organised and happens, so touch wood, maybe in the next while, something might happen," he added.

Hogan revealed that the Cranberries are currently busy rehearsing for their upcoming tour of the United States, which will begin in "about two weeks". The Limerick Leader understands that the band are using an unoccupied factory building on the fringes of the city to rehearse in and that although lead singer Dolores O'Riordan has not joined her bandmates as of yet, she is due in the very near future.

Business owners in the vicinity have reported to the Leader that the band are "rocking out" in the building, their familiar songs easily audible from within.

Speaking about returning to rehearsals, Hogan said there was some nerves beforehand.

"It is seven years since we have done it - the week before we went in everyone was really nervous about remembering the stuff because you wouldn't have played it since we finished up," said Noel. "Now that we have the hardest part over, the buzz is certainly there and we are itching to do the first few gigs again."

The guitarist also revealed that the band are rehearsing material written for an album that was never made and that the band are writing new songs as well, with an eye on a summer album release next year.

Hogan was promoting a new record created to raise funds for the West of Ireland heart health charity Croí, to which he has contributed the song 'Hannah Heart', recorded under his 'Arkitekt' guise. The CD , "Heartland - Songs for Croí" is available now in shops and proceeds will go toward the Galway based Cardiology Foundation.

Офигенные новости! Ещё менее полугода назад было неизвестно объединятся ли вообще Клюквы, а теперь уже летом следущего года есть шанс, что выйдет 6-ой альбом.
Только интересно, на каком лейбле они хотят издавать этот альбом? И ещё интересно, войдут ли песни, записанные Клюквами для 6-го альбома в 2003 году в этот самый 6-ой альбом?
