VELVETBOX - Official Press Release Current mood: rejuvenated
SIGNAL HILL RECORDS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9TH, 2008 It is with great pleasure that Signal Hill Records announces that Fergal Lawler, the powerful Irish drummer from the Cranberries, is joining popular Canadian musical group, Velvetbox.
Lawson Carroll, singer of Velvetbox and Mr. Lawler have been communicating through Myspace, Facebook and email over the past several months discussing particulars surrounding this venture.
Carroll, originally a Newfoundlander with Irish heritage, now lives in Canada's capital city of Ottawa, Ontario. He has built an all-star lineup also featuring Phil White on bass, and Daryl Deskin on guitars, both from the ultra sauve Montreal band, 'Brighton'.
When reached for comment, Lawler said, "Lawson, Phil and Daryl are excellent musicians. I love the power and melody in the songs, and I cannot wait to play them live. I am delighted with the direction we're headed and am very proud to be a member of Velvetbox." And to solidify that the feeling is mutual, Carroll stated, "We are truly honoured to be working with Fergal. He is a very talented musician with an exquisite touch, who can also when required, play his drums into the ground!"
As momentum grows in the Velvetbox camp, so too is industry interest. After winning the Canadian National Song Writing Competition, having songs featured in movies and working with world renowned producers, the buzz is definitely gaining momentum. Now, with the recent developments, Velvetbox finds itself poised for international success.
With the suits of the music industry paying very close attention these days,Velvetbox sets out to fulfill the many showcase requests that they have received. Fact is, there appears to be a bidding war brewing.
Velvetbox plays an industry showcase at Zaphod Beeblebrox in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on Thursday, November 27, 2008. Advance tickets $10, at the door $12. Please note, this show will sell out, so tickets should be purchased quickly.

Наверное, не стоит тут постить каждый раз их полные тексты... Вкратце: Velvetbox вовсю ведут переговоры с лейблами, очень успешно продают свой семплер и готовятся выпустить полноценный альбом весной будущего года!
Да, чуть не забыл: появился в продаже Вельветбоксовый мерч: плакаты с автографами, майки и, не поверите трусики с фирменной символикой! Кому-нибудь нужны труселя "Velvetbox" за 10 баксов?;))
От скромности ребята явно не страдают! Прямо так и говорят: покупайте сейчас, когда мы будем собирать стадионы - будет поздно! Зато у вас будет возможность говорить, что вы были свидетелями зарождения звёзд мирового масштаба! (Почти прямая цитата) Да у нас просто выбора нет товарищи!
