Фергал стал одним из основателей и ударником новой группы - The Low Network. Сегодня он прислал Алексу письмо с деталями о своем новом проекте.
Cranberries batterista Fergal Lawler emailed Zombieguide today to announce the first details of his new band, called The Low Network.
The band consists of Jennifer McMahon (DeLorean Suite, vocals), Kieran Calvert (ex-Woodstar, guitar), and Fergal Lawler (The Cranberries/Mono Band, drums). The Low Project has just finished their first 3-track EP and will soon have a website online.
Hi Alex, It’s been quiet a while since we spoke. My apologies, I’ve been working extremely hard with my new band ‘the low network’. I am working with Kieran Calvert who was the guitarist in ‘woodstar’ and a fantastic singer, also from Limerick, named Jennifer McMahon. We are in the process of setting up our website and we will be online in the next few weeks. There will be some songs to listen to there, along with info and photo’s etc. We have just finished a three track E.P. which won’t be for general release but, we will be sending it out to record companies etc. in the hope of securing a record deal. I will update you on the progress soon. I ‘ve been browsing the forum occasionally and wanted to say thanks to everyone for their birthday greetings and encouraging words, they are greatly appreciated! Speak to you soon, Take care, Fergal.
We first heard whispers about Fergal’s collaboration with Kieran Calvert way back in August 2005, when The Low Network was in its infancy.
Jenny McMahon sang live for Mono Band in 2005 a sub-in for Alexandra Hamnede, who was pregnant at the time. You can find photos and video of Jennifer performing with Mono Band here in the archive, of course.

Radiohead & Bat For Lashes in Malahide
Hey, I went to see Radiohead And Bat For Lashes in Malahide Castle last weekend. Unfortunately the concert started earlier than expected so I only managed to see the last two songs of BFL but they were brilliant. Radiohead started at 8.15 and preceded to take the whole audience on an overwhelmingly beautiful emotional journey for the next 2 hours or so. They played everything I wanted to hear. They were awe inspiring! The passion and the musicianship of all five members is truly a sight to behold. I was so imersed in the music that I felt at times I was floating, a feeling I do not get often enough. To be honest, I'm so blown away that I'm a little lost for words, so if you are a fan, definitely try to see them on this tour!!
I am still working with Walter Mitty and The Realists. They are a fantastically dedicated and energetic band. They have been constantly playing gigs and recording while working day jobs inbetween. They deserve to do well. I'm really enjoying making this record although it is quiet challenging at times but the reward will come at the end of recording when we can all sit down and listen to the Album as a whole. We are due to be finished by the end of August so keep an eye on their myspace site. Anne an Tara from We should be dead came into the studio yesterday to do some backing vocals and they were wonderful. Full of vibrant energy and very relaxed and professional. They sang on a song called 'Green Light Go' and brought a positive, upbeat feeling to the song. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/wsbd
That's it for now. One of my best friend just had a baby girl yesterday so I'm off to drink some Guiness! Take it easy, Fergal.
